Maitland advises Uralkali on its proposed merger with OJSC Silvinit

Maitland is advising Uralkali on its proposed merger with peer OJSC Silvinit.  The proposed acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of February 2011 following which, Uralkali will implement a statutory merger of Silvinit into Uralkali, which is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter 2011, with Uralkali being the surviving entity.  The proposed combination will create one of the world's leading potash companies, a leading global fertilizer producer and one of Russia's leading mineral resource companies.
