Maitland/AMO was appointed as ZPG’s (formerly Zoopla) retained advisor in 2014 as the online property portal prepared to list on the London Stock Exchange. Post-IPO our focus has been to explain the company’s diversification into new services and its M&A strategy to achieve this.

Maitland/AMO has had to promote the company’s growth story in the face of fierce competition from rivals in the sector, including Rightmove and OnTheMarket.

• Highlight restrictive practises adopted by other portals and the negative impact they can have on customers.
• Explain the logic behind ZPG’s diversification strategy, including the acquisition of numerous companies to broaden its offer.
• Further demonstrate ZPG as a consumer champion across the home services spectrum, improving choice to help users to find better deals and cut costs.

Outcome

ZPG is no longer seen as just a property portal, but as a one-stop shop for consumers looking to research, buy or sell property and find the best deals, from home insurance to electricity and gas.
